Bay windows can be beautiful, but their angled layout makes measuring and blind placement more important than on a standard single window. Custom zebra blinds can work well on bay windows when each section is measured and planned carefully.
Can You Put Zebra Blinds on Bay Windows?
Yes. In most bay-window setups, each window section uses its own custom blind. This gives you separate control over light and privacy on each panel while keeping the overall look consistent.
Best Zebra Blind Options for Bay Windows
Light-Filtering Zebra Blinds
Light-filtering zebra blinds work well in living rooms and dining areas where you want to preserve brightness while reducing glare and improving daytime privacy.
Blackout Zebra Blinds
Blackout zebra blinds are better suited to bedrooms, TV rooms, or other spaces where stronger room darkening and privacy are important.
Motorized Zebra Blinds
For larger or harder-to-reach bay-window sections, motorized zebra blinds can make operation easier. The exact motor and remote setup depends on the selected blind configuration.
How Bay Window Measuring Is Different
Each section should be measured separately. You also need to consider the angle between the windows, mounting depth, trim, handles, and whether neighbouring blinds could interfere with one another.
If you are measuring yourself, use our measuring guide. For local projects, free in-home measurement is available across our service area.
Inside Mount vs. Outside Mount
An inside mount can give a cleaner built-in appearance when the frame has enough depth. An outside mount may be more practical when the opening is shallow or when more coverage is preferred. The best option depends on the individual bay-window layout.
Keep the Bay Window Looking Consistent
Using the same fabric colour and hardware style across all sections helps the bay window look unified, even though each blind operates separately.
