How to install zebra blinds step-by-step guide for inside mount and outside mount

Before You Start

1. Get your tools
Pencil, tape measure, drill or screwdriver, and level.
2. Find your mount
Inside the frame = Inside Mount. On the wall/trim = Outside Mount.
3. Keep it level
Both brackets must sit at the same height.

Inside Mount

The blind sits inside the window frame. For a clean built-in look, keep the front of the blind flush with the front edge of the trim.

1

Measure

Measure the inside width first, then the inside height.

2

Mark the brackets

Put one bracket near each top corner. Keep them near the front edge.

3

Screw them in

Hold the bracket in place and screw upward into the top of the frame.

4

Click in the blind

Hook the blind into the brackets, push until it clicks, then test it up and down.

Easy tip: Stand back and make sure the headrail looks straight and flush with the trim.

Outside Mount

The blind sits on the wall or trim above the window. This gives more coverage and blocks more light.

1

Measure bigger

Measure the window, then add about 3 inches to the width and 3 inches to the height.

2

Mark the brackets

Hold the blind above the window and mark where each bracket will go.

3

Install brackets

Screw the brackets into solid wood or a stud. Use wall anchors if needed.

4

Click in the blind

Snap the blind into the brackets and test it.

Safety Chain Bracket

This is important for child safety.

Just mount the bracket, screw it in, and place the chain inside.

Easy Steps

  • Step 1: Put the bracket where you want it.
  • Step 2: Screw the bracket into the wall or window frame.
  • Step 3: Put the chain inside the bracket.
  • Step 4: Adjust the bracket so the chain is straight, but not too tight and not too loose.
Correct chain tension: The chain should have a little movement so you can pull it up and down smoothly. If it is too tight, the blind can be hard to operate. If it is too loose, the chain can sag and become a safety concern. Keep it straight with light tension — snug, but not stretched tight.
